The long-awaited day of the exam results arrives - will it bring joy or sadness? While Charlene, Jane, Mike can celebrate, Scott is bitterly disappointed. Jim expects Scott to repeat the school year. Helen is visited by a strange man who introduces himself as Reverend Errol Price, but the visitor is destined to cause a lot of heartache.

January 13, 1987

Scott sees his brother in new light when Paul buys him a car. Sinister things are happening at the cemetery. Alleged prison chaplain Reverend Errol Price reveals his true colours. He doesn't care about the well-being of his fellow human beings, but wants to wipe out their lives. Paul and Susan have a row.

January 14, 1987

Helen hasn't come home all night. Paul spots her car in a parking lot. The Robinson family is in a frenzy and suspect that Reverend Price has something to do with Helen's disappearance, then Paul gets some interesting facts from the prison - the real Reverend Price is a much older man.

January 15, 1987

Reverend Eroll Price is revealed to be Ralph Drew and Helen's kidnapper. Shortly after, he shows up at the Robinsons. When he leaves their house, Charlene and Shane give chase. But it quickly becomes a dangerous mission.

January 16, 1987

Dan pays a furtive visit to the doctor. Kelly tells Daphne she killed her father. Madge is left money by her aunt Maud in a will. She is to be paid a large sum if she can prove to her father Dan that she has become a decent and honorable woman.

Paul fires Susan. Helen appears to have made a full recovery, but later becomes tired and emotional.

January 20, 1987

Clive gives a verdict on Dan's health. Charlene and Kelly put Mike and Scott in an embarrassing situation.

Daphne and Madge begin to scheme for Clive and Susan's wedding. Mike and Scott are caught with their trousers down. Shane is bitten by a snake.

Madge is upset to learn that Charlene still has ambitions to be a mechanic. Helen gets a visitor.

Scott and Lucy get in an argument about Basil coming to the beach with them. Scott does not want Basil stinking out his car. Things get saucy at the beach with Scott and Charlene and Basil put himself in a life threatening situation when he jumps off the pier.

February 4, 1987

Lucy and Mike are on the pier calling and looking for Basil. They cannot find him, Mike dives into the sea. Mike comes up from under the water and Lucy shouts if he can see Basil. Mike shouts back that he cannot see him anywhere, he swims under the pier and dives down under the ocean in a vain search for Basil.

Scott's newspaper article has widespread repercussions in Ramsay Street.

Des and Daphne have a showdown that sees Des thrown out of his house. Helen gets some alarming news.

Rosemary returns to Erinsborough and receives some bad news. Scott's latest article is published, angering Madge.

Paul, Des, Henry and Mike are planning Scotts stag night. Henry has an idea but Jim lets them know he does not like practical jokes. Later with the party in full swing Paul asks Scott to join him in the cellar for a toast.

Scott knows the plan and makes a run for it from the cellar and locks everyone in. There is lots of banging and shouting from Dan and Henry emerges in a chicken suit.

June 27, 1987

Dan does not see how a schoolboy can provide for his granddaughter. Hilary butts in and says at least Scott and Charlene are getting married instead of living out of wedlock like Dan and Edna.

June 28, 1987

Wedding plans are in full swing but will it be derailed with an outbreak of measles. Charlene reveals to Scott she has spots, Madge declares they may have to cancel the wedding. Scott kisses Charlene and says if you have measles then so do I, we are not calling off the wedding.

July 1, 1987

The big day has arrived…Scott is stressing out to Mike and Paul that Charlene might not turn up. As Scott looks round, he sees Charlene coming through the door on Henrys arm, dressed in a beautiful white dress and veil. Henry places the rings on the bible and Scott slips Charlene's ring on to her finger while Jane cries in the background. The episode was filmed in secrecy and with a limited budget three months before it was broadcast. The wedding ceremony was filmed in the nave of The Holy Trinity Church in Doncaster. "Episode 523" is one of only a few Neighbours episodes to include the entire cast. A new romantic style wedding dress made from ivory silk, organza and chantilly lace was made for Minogue's character. The ballad "Suddenly", which was written and sung by Angry Anderson, was chosen as the theme to the episode. Prior to its broadcast, Minogue and Donovan promoted "Episode 523" by making several appearances at shopping centres.

Mrs Mangel is in love with Harold, and reacts badly when she discovers Harold doesn't feel the same. Harold discovers that Rob has a debt of $15,000 at the garage.

July 1, 1987

Hilary attempts to set Jim up with her friend, Beverley, before she leaves. Daphne tells Mrs Mangel the truth about Len.

July 4, 1987

Mrs Mangel gets her memory back and is furious at Jane for lying to her. Jim tries his best to avoid meeting Beverly. Mrs Mangel throws Jane out of the house.

July 5, 1987

Jane moves into the Robinson house. Rob makes a confession to Harold and Jim.

July 6, 1987

Rob finds himself in debt after gambling on horses. Paul agrees to lend him some money. Jim is rude to Beverly when she comes for dinner.

Harold decides to give up his share in the garage and dissolves the partnership. Henry wants to start his own lawn mowing business. Harold tells Madge he's leaving Erinsborough, but she begs him to stay.

July 8, 1987

Daphne searches for someone who can take over the Coffee Shop, until she has had the baby. Madge and Henry change their surname to Ramsay.

July 11, 1987

Harold offers to lend Henry some money for his lawnmower business. Harold agrees to take over the coffee shop for a while. Daphne suffers a fall after a mishap.

July 12, 1987

Daphne goes to hospital as a precaution. Mrs Mangel gets a fright, when Jane and Henry attempt to retrieve the liquid beauty bottles from her shed.

July 13, 1987

Harold takes over at the coffee shop, and immediately makes it vegetarian only. Lucy is devastated when she witnesses Paul kissing Crystal.

July 14, 1987

Lucy tries to avoid Gail after what she witnessed. Jim tells Rob that they have to sell the garage. Rob gets drunk and causes a scene in the Waterhole. Later, he goes to see Gail and ruins her and Paul's business dinner with Mr Udigawa.

Lucy forgives Paul after he gives her an explanation. Henry and Jane try to drum up business for his new lawnmower venture. Rob writes a letter for Gail, is he leaving town?

July 18, 1987

Gail arranges a meeting with Mr Udagawa. Helen contemplates taking a trip to the Bungle Bungles. Henry delivers Rob's letter to Gail, but is he too late?

Scott and Charlene return from their honeymoon to the news that Charlene has lost her apprenticeship. Mr Udigawa offers Paul a contract. Gail is worried about her fathers whereabouts. Paul offers to annul his marriage to Gail.

Helen inadvertently tells Rosemary about Paul's plans for the waterhole. Paul mistakenly blames Gail. Amanda and Charlene play a trick on the school caretaker in order to gain access to the school.

Helen sets Paul straight. Jim is interested in buying a workshop, which has been called 'a heap of junk'. Amanda invites Madge to lunch, but it ends in a big argument. Paul and Gail are still at odds.

Beverly gives some advice to Des and Daphne. Amanda gets an unwelcome visitor. Amanda enlists Scott and Henry for some help, before giving Jane some bad news.

Mrs Mangel returns home from hospital. Des gets caught having dinner with Amanda. Madge apologizes to Mrs Mangel.

Madge offers Daphne some advice about Des. Amanda has a falling out with her Mum and Daughter, resulting in her prompt departure from the street. Mrs Mangel plays a trick on Madge. Daphne agrees to spend some quality time with Des.

September 5, 1987

Madge invites Rob Lewis to dinner. When Harold pops in for a visit, the pair bicker. Lucy is upset about her potential partial paralysis, but a visit from her family gives her more hope. Scott and Charlene have money problems.

Charlene is offered her apprenticeship back, in Jim's new business. Scott considers leaving school to get a job. Lucy makes a new friend in hospital.

September 7, 1987

Mrs Mangel reveals that she used to read tea leaves, and swiftly takes it up again. She reads Harold's and Eileen's. Is love in the air?

September 8, 1987

Rosemary gives Gail a promotion. Mrs Mangel tries more fortune telling. Daphne returns to work, with Jamie in tow.

Someone calls the health inspector into the coffee shop. Gail and Paul are at odds. Lucy has a crush.

Des discovers who called the health department. Stephen and Jim fight for Beverly. .

Mike does the photo shoot of Lassiters, with Jane's help. Paul and Gail continue to be at odds. Beverley makes her choice.

September 14, 1987

Gail and Paul finally make up. Jim and Beverly go out for a meal. Scott and Charlene's insistence to pay their own way, causes frictions at home.

September 15, 1987

Jim,s new garage opens, and Charlene resumes her apprenticeship. Gail has an idea for a childcare centre. Harold and Eileen agree to go out, Eileen tries to make Madge jealous.

September 16, 1987

Lucy receives an upsetting letter. Harold is oblivious to Eileen's real intentions. Charlene is angry with Scott after he spends another evening in the pub. Rob contemplates moving away.

September 17, 1987

Paul is talking to Henry about the Waterhole renovations, he tells Henry the objective is to give the Waterhole a real outback feel. Des comes in and wants to talk about Jamie's christening. Paul jumps the gun, thinking Des was about to ask him to be Jamie's godfather. Madge is making baked beans for Henry's dinner so Scott and Charlene will not feel so left out.

September 20, 1987

Harold inadvertently puts on a porn movie for himself, Mrs Mangel and Eileen. Mrs Mangel plays a trick on Eileen. Following a chat with Jane, Henry decides to move out.

September 21, 1987

Harold is invited to join the church choir. An old flame of Gail's comes to town.

September 22, 1987

Jim and Beverly play a round of golf. Des and Daphne receive a mysterious gift. Paul borrows some of Rick's jokes.

September 23, 1987

Lucy gets her wires crossed, when she thinks she hears some bad news. Jamie's christening takes place, but who is the woman watching? Eileen is still worried that Harold may be a 'beast'.

September 24, 1987

Daphne's mother turns up, Daphne wants to know why? Jane becomes a poster girl. Mrs Mangel returns to work. Daphne invites her Mum to dinner.

September 27, 1987

Lucy returns home from hospital, excited to be spending some time with her Dad. Daphne is upset after finding out that her Dad blames her for the death of her brother. Des discovers some sad news, will he tell Daphne? Jim gets an urgent call from the office.

September 28, 1987

Paul offers his help and support, but Jim says there is nothing he can do, but Jim thanks Paul for offering. Rob heads off to see Gail at the office - apparently she and Paul are working late. Gail applauds Paul as she turns to face him, not saying anything. But Paul thinks he had every right to say that to Rob. Jim is steamed about Rob's behaviour - what does Rob think he's paying him for?

September 29, 1987

Madge tells Henry that the take was down by forty five dollars and Paul thinks Henry was in on Kenny with it. Kenny insists that Madge made a mistake, but Henry says that Madge is always very good with money. She tells Helen that on no account must she invite Harold for dinner - she might end up being the main course Helen says that Madge was only joking with her comments about Harold.

September 30, 1987

Harold discovers who started the rumours about him. Charlene buys a worn out, decrepit old car and vows to give it a makeover. Des tells Daphne about her father.

October 3, 1987

As a result of his humiliation, Harold decides to leave Erinsbourough. Mrs Mangel has a bad premonition from the tea leaves. Harold picks up his car from the garage before it has been fixed.

October 4, 1987

Harold is taken to hospital after the accident. Mrs Mangel vows to stop fortune telling. Mrs Mangel, Madge and Eileen agree to share looking after Harold whilst he recuperates, much to Harold's dismay. Paul speaks to Rob about his work etiquette.

October 5, 1987

Paul assures Charlene that she still has her job after Rob quits. Harold dislikes being treated like a child. Mike agrees to help Lucy with her school work. Charlene contemplates selling her wedding dress to raise some money.

October 6, 1987

Henry is concerned when he starts to lose customers. Daphne agrees to visit her Dad. Charlene finds Scott a tutor. Harold decides to move in with Des and Daphne. Rob decides to leave town.

October 7, 1987

Jane begins helping Scott with his maths. Henry discovers the reason his customers are leaving. Daphne contemplates an offer from her Dad. Harold is intent on leaving Erinsborough, even after a visit from the vicar.

Henry discovers who was writing the letters. Gail spends the day with Glen. Beverly manages to coerce Lucy out of the house. Henry gets into trouble with Paul after having a fight.

Helen witnesses a moment between Gail and Glen. Paul helps to convince the Neighbours that Henry is a reliable person. Paul overhears a conversation.

Charlene is concerned about how much time Scott is spending with Jane. Madge attempts to make peace with Harold. Daphne's dad is rushed to hospital, prompting a surprise decision by Daphne.

Harold apologises to Madge and they make up. Henry goes diving in an attempt to impress some one. Eileen declares shes moving in with Des, whilst Daphne is away. Mike moves into Mrs Mangles house.

Mrs Mangel is keeping a close eye on Mike. Daphne heads off to look after her Dad. Why is Sally so interested in Des?

Sally begins working in the coffee shop. Mike, Jane and Scott plan Charlene's 18th Birthday party. Gail hires a familiar looking mechanic for the garage. Paul takes Lucy to visit her horse. Paul is keen to take it out for a ride, despite not knowing how to ride one.

Rosemary offers Gail and Jane a work trip to the US. Charlene is increasingly concerned about Jane and Scott's friendship when they aren't where they said they would be. Paul recovers from his mishap on the horse.

It's Charlene's birthday, but she thinks no-one cares. Jane turns down the modelling opportunity in America. Everyone prepares for the surprise party.

Sally shows an uncommon interest in an old family album belonging to the Clarkes.

Gail heads off on her trip to the USA. Harold tells Mrs Mangel he'll consider moving back in when he's recovered. Des wants some answers from Sally.

Des discovers the truth about Sally, Scott draws a portrait of Jane. Henry catches Des and Sally alone. Mike reads Jane's diary and discovers a secret. Beverly brings Steven to her house after his accident.

Scott and Jane share a kiss, after her gives her the portrait he drew. Henry hints that he know someone is having an affair, making Charlene suspicious. Des wants Sally to move in. Charlene is furious when she finds out about the kiss, causing Scott to move out.
