The court becomes divided as Queen Alicent Hightower, Viserys’s second wife, promotes her son Aegon’s claim to the throne. Political intrigue, shifting alliances, and personal betrayals set the stage for a looming conflict that threatens to tear the Targaryen dynasty apart.
