Max is pleased with himself for finally getting Tom off to school without a fuss, helped by a little bit of bribery. Mel wakes up hung over in a police cell and can't remember what happened last night. Nancy prepares a birthday breakfast for Becca - surely she'll let her stay after such star treatment. After guarding Il Gnosh from those pesky travellers, Tony awakes stiff-necked and tired, only to be confronted by a shark!

Tony manages to control Mandy's spending, but has less luck with Sheba the dog. Joe is incensed to learn his mum is back with his drunken, violent dad; there's no way he's going home for the summer now.
